In 2010 Troy made his way to our door, landing in the perfect and often challenging position as the Manager of Operations of Chelsea Pines, on the brink of all things great and small. Surrounded by the tiny neighborhood of the West Village laden with some favorite restaurants, and the gallery ridden and hotspot neighborhoods of Chelsea and the Meatpacking district, Troy makes it his business to visit each new restaurant, cafe and gallery in his quest for the perfect recommendation for our guests.
With travel as a favorite hobby, enjoying and understanding customs is just a way of life. “Every day I try to learn about the home towns and neighborhoods of our guests who come from all over the world.” With dozens of trips to the Mediterranean, Troy says, “I’ve enjoyed countless time soaking in not only the sun, but trying to understand the value of the surroundings of a great city. The culture, cuisine, sights and everyday situations are most rewarding, and I try to see that everyone visiting Chelsea Pines has the chance to have a similar experience.”
Troy looks forward to welcoming guests and getting to know about them and what brings them to New York City. “Helping them to decipher the best places for them to see, taste and tour, that maybe they wouldn’t find otherwise, gives me great pleasure. Finding just the right result is an experience they will not forget about their trip to New York. When I’ve accomplished that, it’s a great day for me. I find getting to know some people and staying in touch, planning future trips and having guests offer to show me around their home cities is a terribly good feeling!”
